We are connecting women across India, helping them leverage their critical mass to build winning movements and become life-long activists. By creating more women campaign champions and supporting them to influence national and global debates, more women are winning campaigns and tackling the issues affecting their lives. Chinmayi is a Bollywood singer who received violent rape threats on Twitter. She started a campaign asking Twitter to do a mass shutdown of accounts that have tweeted rape threats. Within a week Chinmayi had received 70,000 supporters for her campaign and sparked a national dialogue about online abuse and trolling.

Priyanka, a single mother, started a campaign to simplify the rules and recognize single mothers in their children's passports. After the campaign generated significant national media attention, the Ministry of External Affairs announced new simplified passport rules recognizing single parents as sole guardians in Indian passports.

Virali is a disabled woman from Mumbai who was fed up of being groped by train porters whom she had to rely on to get on to inaccessible trains. After 197,000 people supported her campaign and national media coverage, Virali is now preparing to take her campaign to the state-level to set a precedent for accessible trains.

Sushmita Dev, a young Member of Parliament, started her campaign to make women’s sanitary products tax free. In India many women cannot afford these products and use unhygienic cloth pads. Her campaign has 200,000 people support with over 40 media hits and the leader of her party and members of other political parties have expressed their support.

Many people had no idea that FGM was practiced in India. Today Masooma's campaign has been covered by national and international media, published a report on the legal status of FGM in India, and involves dozens of women and men. Getting official recognition of FGM from the National Commission for Women will be an important step in eradicating it.
